Trail description: 

Our first stop will be on the edge of the Ramon Machtesh at the view point at the top of the Atzmaut Ascent, after a short explanation we will descend in to the Ramon Machtesh and cross half it's width to Wadi Ramon where we will stop to explain what a Machtesh actualy is and how it was formed. We will continue across the floor of the Machtesh to the summit of Mt. Gvanim which offers a stunning view of the entire Machtesh before descending to the the Gvanim Wadi and the shade of one of the Accacia trees for an explanation about the flora and fauna before continuing to the Sahronim spring and the nearby Nabatean ruins. A short but steep descent by jeep will take us to a lovely shady lunch stop (we can provide a picnic lunch, not include, or you may bring your own). After lunch we will continue alon the picturesque Wadi Ardon with it's unique geological features. We can add a short hike if you like before we continue via the Ramon Plateau and old and the recently rehabilitated clay quarries, now a beautiful geological park, back to the Mitzpe Ramon and the end of our Ramon machtesh adventure.
